Julia is our skilled and dedicated volunteer treasurer.
Julia shared what she likes about the Co-op:
“As treasurer I have had a first hand view of the admirable progress of our local food co-op. In January of 2015 we (the Co-op) had a grocery inventory worth $5,000. We now carry an inventory exceeding $20,000. This represents a vast increase in the variety of products we offer to our members and to the shopping public. Sales have doubled in that time, providing income which allows us to reward our dedicated volunteers in a small way for all the fine work they do.
I enjoy the part I play in this organization. Not only does it fill some of my spare time in a very meaningful way, it has also allowed me to make friends with a great group of people who work and shop at the store. I have also met many of the farmers who provide local produce, meats, cheeses and groceries to to stock our shelves. It feels very good to know that our store provides a place where local people can market the fruits of their labor, and we can ‘buy local’.”
