Julie has volunteered as a director since 2018. She regularly connects with store staff, volunteers and members to share ideas and recommendations regarding the Co-op. Julie genuinely desires to see the Co-op succeed as a business in our community. In the last year Julie has taken on the roll of the Local Supplier Liaison which has taken her to various communities within the Okanagan in order to seek out new suppliers and their unique products to be sold at the Co-op. Julie is very excited to work with the new Board of Directors.
Local Supplier Liaison
Julie is our Local Supplier Liaison. As the Local Supplier Liaison she visits our local farmers and producers. Every growing season, Julie picks up produce from the farmers and products from our local producers. One of Julie’s favourite aspects of her job is that she gets to meet these amazing people and learn how they grow their crops or make their products.
Julie has been a member of the Monashee Community Co-op since 2018. Prior to that Julie and her family lived at the coast, where they were also members of a Co-op. Julie loves spending time in her garden with her grandson teaching him food sustainability and just having fun!
When asked why Julie became a member at the Co-op she said, “The Co-op serves our community in so many ways, and we have many friends that are members here, it was only a matter of time before we decided to become part of this unique business.”
Thank you Julie for all your hard work! You are amazing!
