Meet Barb. Barb takes special orders and makes some product-specific purchasing at the Co-op. She also represents the Co-op at the CHFA (Canadian Health Food Association), an annual conference/trade-show held in Vancouver. For the past 3 years Barb has attended the CHFA, networking and finding new products to bring in to the Co-op.
A former professional cook, avid food lover with a passion for natural organic food, Barb happily joined the Co-op when it was starting out five years ago. Calling Cherryville home, Barb loves that she can buy local food in Lumby:
“I just love what the Co-op’s doing. I love that I can buy locally-made cheese and yogurt in Lumby. As someone who’s been interested in eating healthy and organic since it was first available, it’s so nice to have this here.”
In her spare time, Barb enjoys making greeting cards (using her own illustrations and photos) which you can find at the Co-op! She loves walking down to the river and balancing stacks of rocks, and has a passion for film, boasting an impressive movie collection!
If Barb could visit one of our local suppliers, it would be Sweet Haven Farms, a company located in Cherryville that grow their own microgreens. She finds the process fascinating and would like to see it done from start to finish.
Barb has such a wonderful spirit and we’re so grateful to have her help at the Co-op. Thanks for all that you do, Barb! ♥
