We left corporate jobs to make a dream of ‘Back to the Land’ come true. The learning curve was endless and satisfying. We raised our children here and I managed the pool for 10 years but I now realize that when you live in the country, town becomes more of a ‘drive thru’ while attending to chores and shopping. Since retirement after 40 years of farming, I realized how much about Lumby that I did not know.

We signed up as one of the original members of the Co-op when it started 10 years ago so when I moved into The Villas, I looked for things to do. My need to be busy was satisfied by becoming a “Produce Volunteer”. I’ve been washing vegetables for over a year now and enjoy the company and commitment of all the other volunteers who give their precious time to this Co-op. Job well done, everyone!!!
