On September 4th, Jon Steinman made a stop at the Vernon Library, as part of the tour for his book: “Grocery Story: The Promise of Food Co-op’s in the Age of Grocery Giants”.

Fred and Maureen Zeimer, Sonja Peters and Jon Steinman stand beside the Monashee Community Co-op display.

The following weekend, Jon visited the Monashee Community Co-op store! Pictured below is Jon with three of the Co-op volunteers.

Global News also filmed a short video of Jon’s presentation at the Vernon Library, featuring Monashee Community Co-op volunteers Julie Pilon and Sonja Peters. Julie and Sonja did a lovely job explaining what a Co-op is, and the benefits of being part of one!
